Spirit Casters
Spirit:
Spirit Casters hold a deep connection both to The Wilds and The Spirit Realm, they exist in between life and death, being the means of understanding the balance in this reality. They understand the connection between those that are drawn here and their purpose within the greater means of the realm. They seek out connections not just of the living but also the dead and how they may also be a part of a bigger thing.
Those that wield Spirit Magic will spend most of their existence trying to understand the balance, trying to forge connections between all walks of life and death in order to better understand themselves and the power they hold. Having a connection to the Spirit Realm far exceeds just that of any Caste within the realm, they hear echoes of the past, some may be truthful, while others are deceitful. It is up to the Caster to determine fact from fiction. Some Spirit Casters may even make it their life's goal to piece together and find the purpose of others before moving on, attempting to find the balance in life, death, and the existence in between.
Strengths:
Spirit Casters manage to unlock a part of themselves that most cannot, the ability to touch upon the Immaterium and fade within reality and the metaphysical. Spirit Casters can use their magic to manifest aspects that may have been forgotten, finding the purpose behind certain Sigils and Runes in order to thin reality. Those that harness Spirit Magic find ways to bolster themselves, temporarily drawing upon the Spirit Realm to enhance their senses or physical strength but at the cost of their own exhaustion.
Just as other Casters can draw upon their will and their determination, so can Spirit Casters. However, their magic will respond to deeply emotional connections, possibly strengthening or dampening their power. Spirit Casters will find more reliance in their Calling, however, the bond they share with their Spirit will only bolster their own Magic and allow them to tap into parts of their Caste other Casters may not be able to.
Weaknesses:
Spirit Casters open their senses beyond the normal limits of any living being. They touch upon something ancient, primal, an existence that some believe should be left alone. The very nature of Spirit Magic opens the doors to whispers, to echoes of the past that may drive even the most resolved Caster insane. The very voices heard, the fading memories, dreams, a Spirit Caster may feel drawn to specific sites, locations, and not want to leave until answers are gained.
Those that understand the balance of The Wilds are also ones that pursue its finality with an almost obsessive passion. Spirit Casters that seek out this understanding, leaning too far to one side of life or death, will lose part of themselves, severing meaningful connections. There is an internal balance that must be kept with one's Spirit, dabbling in one aspect more than the other may cause the Caster to lose their connection, or worse, cause them to lose touch with reality and believe they solely exist within the Spirit Realm.
